OpenDoor Services, Inc. was recently awarded a grant from Alta California Regional Center.  This grant was quite substantial and will be utilized for a special project by ODS, entitled Rudy’s.

Rudy’s will be a café in either the CSU Sacramento or Downtown Areas.  This café will be the ideal spot for anything from research, studying and presentations to simply chillin’ with your friends, drinking specialty coffees.  Other beverages and refreshments will be available for purchase.

Rudy’s will be a landmark venture in the promotion of employment, business opportunities and trainings for the developmentally disabled in the Sacramento area.  All of the management and original wait-staff will have developmental disabilities.  Only the General Managers and Ordering Supervisors will not have disabilities.

Rudy’s will be open to the general public, mixing developmentally disabled with the greater diversity of Sacramento, thereby hopefully accomplishing a level of integration that has, thus far, never been attained by others in the area.
